Connect Orbit to Salesforce
Every person you meet lands in Salesforce as a contact under their account, with a note, a follow-up task, an opportunity and the scanned card in Files.
Before you start
- Orbit on iPhone with Orbit Pro.
- A Salesforce account you can sign in to and add apps to.
- Works with Salesforce editions that include API access, such as Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance and Developer.
Connect in under a minute
- Open Orbit, then Settings, then Integrations.
- Tap Salesforce, then Connect Salesforce.
- Sign in to Salesforce and allow access.
- You are back in Orbit and Salesforce shows as connected. Orbit now sends every contact you already have, then each new one as you save it.
What Orbit sends
| In Orbit | In Salesforce |
|---|---|
| First and last name | First Name, Last Name |
| Phone | Phone |
| Company | Account (found or created) |
| Job title | Title |
| Also added | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Note | One note titled From Orbit with the event, how you met, the AI summary, your notes, website, LinkedIn and the timeline. |
| Task | Your follow-up reminder as a task with its due date. Clearing it in Orbit completes it. |
| Opportunity | Created when the contact has a deal value, with the contact as a contact role. Closed won or closed lost when the outcome changes in Orbit. |
| Card image | The scanned business card in Files, shared to the contact. A new scan becomes a new version. |
Change anything in Orbit, such as a new phone number, a second meeting or a new follow-up date, and Salesforce is updated within seconds. Empty a field in Orbit and it is emptied in Salesforce too.
Changes made in Salesforce
Edit the name, email, phone, account and title in Salesforce and Orbit picks it up within about a minute. If the same detail was changed in both places, the newest edit wins. Notes, the summary and the timeline are written by Orbit, so edit those in Orbit.
What Orbit never does
- Delete anything in Salesforce, even if you delete the contact in Orbit.
- Delete anything in Orbit when a record is deleted in Salesforce.
- Import people who only exist in Salesforce.
- Add the same person twice. Orbit matches by email, then by name with company or phone.
Permissions Orbit asks for
- Access and manage your data
- Perform requests at any time
Orbit uses this access only to keep your Orbit contacts in sync. Read the privacy policy.
Disconnect
In Orbit, open Settings, Integrations, Salesforce, then tap Disconnect. Orbit stops syncing and removes its access in Salesforce. Everything already sent stays in Salesforce. You can also remove Orbit from Salesforce in Settings, Connected Apps OAuth Usage.
Troubleshooting
- Orbit says Reconnect. Salesforce signed Orbit out, usually after a password change or removed access. Tap Reconnect and sign in again. Nothing is lost: changes wait and send once you are back.
- A contact has not appeared. New contacts usually arrive within a few seconds. Check that Orbit Pro is active and Salesforce shows as connected in Orbit.
- Still stuck? Email hello@orbitnetworking.app with the contact's name and we will sort it out.
